The user does not create an individual account. There are two ways employees and students can access the EBSCO database. The first method involves connecting to the WSG network, in which case you do not need to log in. The second method is to use the login data provided by the Library while being connected to any network. Send a request for login data to the e-mail address biblioteka@byd.pl or come to the library in person. Remote access does not require periodic activation - the user can use remote access when using the login data provided by the Library.
About EBSCO
The EBSCO database covers a wide range of fields: scientific, technical, humanities, social, economic, business, medical and biomedical sciences. 14 databases, including 7 full-text databases containing scientific journals from various publishers, books, newspapers, and other publications.
ELSEVIER (ScienceDirect and Scopus)
The user creates an account on their own, using the WSG e-mail address. Remote access is possible for employees and students who have e-mail accounts in the byd.pl (employee) and student.wsg.pl (student) domains.
In the case of ScienceDirect, the user must create an individual account via the "My account" option or "Create account" in the case of Scopus. After entering the e-mail address, the account must be activated via a link sent to the e-mail address provided during registration. After clicking the link, Elsevier asks you to fill in the data (name, surname, password).
The account is common for all Elsevier products, so it does not matter whether the user registers on the ScienceDirect or Scopus website.
The above operations can be performed outside the academic network of WSG, but require the use of an e-mail address belonging to the institution's address domain, i.e. e-mail addresses: firstname.lastname@byd.pl (employee) or firstname.lastname@student.wsg.pl (student).
About ScienceDirect

The database also contains 1,712 monographs and 803 volumes of book series or handbooks.
About Scopus
Scopus is an interdisciplinary database of abstracts and quotations from approx. 23,000 journals, 145,000 books, book series, conference reports, and patents. The database includes abstracts and quotations from the field of mathematical-natural, medical, and technical humanities.
The user should create an individual account via the “Log in” option. Remote access will be automatically activated when the account is created, provided that the account is created while being connected to the academic network – the account must be created from the IP number registered for the license by the institution. After registration, the e-mail address should be verified by clicking on the link sent to the e-mail address provided during registration.
Springer Nature Link and Nature share the same account, so it does not matter whether the user registers on the Springer Nature Link or Nature website.
About Springer Link
Springer Link includes 2132 current journals and deep archives for approx. 1,000 journals and approx. 137,000 books.
The user should create an individual account by selecting the “Register” option, which is only possible while being connected to the academic network – the account must be created from the IP number registered for the license by the institution. That ensures automatic activation of remote access. To not lose remote access, you must log in to your account from your institution's network once every 12 months. After registration, you must activate your account by clicking on the link sent to the email address provided during registration.
